We often hear how this crime or that crime was committed after playing games like Gta Etc. And let face it these games are violent but they are fantasy.
In my oppion by blaming video games for a crime is removing the blame from the person who committed these crimes and that is the most dangerous thing about it all. We as humans have free will and choice to do something or not do it, These games did not force people to play them,buy them or do any crime they are just a convenient excuse. If a person can not tell the difference between fantasy and reality they have a problem that needs addressing, only very young children can not do that and that is why we have age certification on games.
And finally I have played many of these video games that have been blamed for crimes and not gone on a ram,page and murder the Good Citizens of Hull
The same can be said about music and films and they have been about a lot longer. The only difference is that yes video games are more interactive and involved. Plus a lot of the bad press with the likes of Gta are created by Rock-star themselves using the there is no such thing as bad news model.
