(Ok I finally will say who is my Rugby team Hull Fc (and no I don't hate rovers I love having two super league teams in Hull it create great banter and rivarys) I ask this question after it was announced Fc will be departing with the service of Peter Gentle our Coach/manager Which I fell is far from the correct decission. It is the player who lose games and win them not the coach alone but it only the coach who goes they are a scape goat and Hull Fc are to quick to dump the boss it is one of the club flaws and many clubs in many sports suffer from this.
Yes a bad manager is a waste of space and need to be gone but often it good manager who had bad luck who get the boot. If you manager got you to a major final and the play off in one season when no one thougth you could would you sack them because they list in the play off?
Player miss tackle drop balls etc (rugby) there is only so much any coach can do so where does the blame stand? Player? Or Coach?
Sport club owners always say manager/coach
Why are the players left out this equation? They play the games. And what the boss can do during the game is limited it is the players domion not the managers. And it is were the game won or lost.
And yes bad coaching can lead to this, but good coaching can only go so far in preventing loss the difference is the players every time.
