A very abridged history of Hull the first bit

The city of Kingston upon Hull to give us our proper name is just over 700 years old so we are not the oldest city in Yorkshire.
The city grow from a small hamlet called wkye on the west bank of the river Hull owned by the monks at Meux to export wool to the continent. Soon a king saw the advantage of the location and brought the city of the monks to be a supply port and garrison against the Scottish and the city as we know was born.
