Kingston upon Hull's first Dock is opened, known simply as 'The Dock'. Later, after construction of further docks in the city it became known as 'The Old Dock'. It was officially named Queens Dock in 1855. Queens Dock was closed in 1930 and was infilled and converted to ornamental gardens and named Queens Gardens.
