Press release regarding the My ferry link strikes

As I am sure you are well aware Clark trading group provide european light haulage and removals services as a result we have a risk of been caught up in the current industrial action in the Pas de Calais area.

We are taking all possible efforts and measure to avoid this affecting our European and UK deliveries
Customer can rest assured we will take all measure possible including incurring extra cost to ensure their jobs are done at the times as booked and avoid any knock on effects to jobs.

We are:
  • Monitoring via numerou new sources the situation in Calais
  • As a rule we sail via Dunkirk anyway to limit risk from illegal migrants
  •  Keeping in touch with our freight ferry broker on a regular basis
  • Rerouting via New Haven to avoid the next possible batch at substantial extra cost to our self of over 100% extra in fares one way but we would rather shallow those cost than risk letting a customer down
  • Wild cat strike are a risk still even with these measure
  • We will also keep all customer informed and advised as appropriate
And while we symperize to a degree with the Ferry worker losing their job(this is not the same as supporting them in any shape or form your actions are risking jobs on both sides of the channel in larger number then are even employed @my ferry link is that fair NO )
we ask them to remember that to small company like Clark trading the money this is costing us is a huge potential financial strain while we are experiencing a bumper period of  straight record breaking month we are able to a degree shallow this and still grow and launch a new van which will also enable us to cover any Uk job that would have been previous jeopardised like we suffered last week. When the strike resulted in us having to cancel several jobs at huge cost to us and the customers.

I also ask the strike ferry worker if/when they next take action to remember people stuck in vans/trucks/car in summer heat , you are risking their lives.

I also ask the Ferry workers to consider the stress and strain that the current situation is causing the transport industry.

It is also worth noting the current situation is the worst it has ever been I was reading earlier today how it is the first time they ever put stage 4 of operation stack into us in Kent ( +Kent Police  )

All our upcoming routes with load space can be found here

Due to the current uncertainty caused by the situation in France around Calais, Clark trading is suspending our European delivery/collection removal operations

This is despite taking precautions as previously mentioned

With the Farmers and Ferry workers doing what they are doing
