1998 - 2014 RIP Charlie (16 years old apx)

As of yesterday 24/11/2014 the old fella is now longer with us, RIP big fella. We had him for 14 years and have some great memories. In His younger days he could spend hours chasing after a rugby ball on Western Gailes way field it is also where I broke  my ankle  while playing with a rugby ball with him. And where he nearly caught a pigeon but Gemma beat him to it.

Or more recently +Pets at Home he would pull to go to the local branch to see the rabbits no correction bark at the rabbits. Took Gemma there last after he had passed away and the Rabbits nearly had me in tears. He just loved it in there with cleaning up dog biscuits that had fallen on the floor or the treats at the tils.

And near were we live there are a group of wild rabbits even till the last he knew where they where and wanted to chase them even at 16.

He just loved the snow it brought his inner puppy out. Free food he just loved eating the snow

My mum has just read this out loud and mentioned several things I had forgot like Charlie digging holes on the field on Western gailes. Or when we first rehomed him(he was called Sandy he hated it and did not respond to it we named him Charlie because he was cheeky) we would let him out front in the garden you would have to chase him to get him back he did not go far though.

Tales of the road

Been among other things a delivery company things our van gets out and about and as you can imagine see all sorts of weird strange wacky and even dangerous things out there on the roads.

I thought I would try and do a tales of the road blog based on that since it is Road Safety Week 2014
(Lets look out for each other is this years theme)









So Here goes:

My Favorite no sorry that the wrong word thing I have and do see when out and about (in the van and foot) is Cyclist who think they are a law to themselves. And no this is not a dig at cyclist the one who do it right are great and it is a small minority but,

• No lights 
• Pavement cycling 
• Wrong way on a road

And these are just three things I see all the time when on foot and  bike motorcycle you are some of no the most vulnerable road user. So by taking these risk and breaking these laws etc you are just increase your risk of injury or even pulling no punches death.

We all have a responsibility to both know the rules of the road.

And that is just one example

Road Safety Week

You don't always need to be in a car or in our case our Jumbo merc sprinter van to see some weird and wonderful no correction crazy things out there on the roads. Even when I am out and about on foot I have and do see some things that just make my mind boggle people on bikes at night in dark clothes with no lights on. It is like how do you expect to be seen.

 

The message for this years Road safety week is look out for each other, which is undeniable a good thing all road user have that responsibility but we all also must be responsible for our own safety. And use the roads in a safe and appropriate way.
