Hull is many thing both good and bad , but that why I love it , Hull is real not foney or artificial and that is what matters.
Hull is not what many think it is, it can surprise you in so many ways.

Hull is a nothern city sat in our own little corner of England sort of tucked away but not at the same time, on the edge of everything but not it what makes us so different.

We all know there are quite a few delivery company out there. What makes us different.?

1. Our driver has 20 plus years experience of driving HGV class one all across the UK and Europe. This has enabled him to develop a vast knowledge base, of the geographical lay of the Uk. In those years on the road he has delivered a wide range of delicate loads including glass. This means he has had to be a smooth and safe driver.  
2. Our Large Ford Transit is a lot newer than the type of van many similar companies us. Mean our carbon foot print is lower than many similar companies. 
3. Our Csr policy (Mentioned and discussed numerous times on this blog)
4. We Support Charity Dove House Hospice  
5. We offer the possibility of same day bookings and delivery or next day etc,  
6. We are a small family owned business 
7. The fact we are also a trading company selling a wide range of products (Can you delivery company offer that?) (including PPE )

WE are now The Clark trading Group part 2

Has anything changed expect the name?
Yes and no

The yes is we are now doing new services and looking at even more new services and products.
The no The logo is still the same it is still the same team the same everything in that sense the only changes are for the good new services.

We are now the Clark trading Group

We have changed the company name to Clark Trading Group.

But Why ?

With the natural progression from been solely a market  trader and on-line trader to a delivery company/light haulage and market trader and on-line trader.
The current name did not fully reflect our new more diverse service offering

Fund raising ideas for Dove House Hospice

We are looking for novel idea's for a charity event to support our favourite local Charity Dove House Hospice anyone with some different idea's please contact xx

I have had a few strange ideas like :
Putting a bath on to pallet and pulling it around Hull City centre with a pallet truck filled with beans as a variant of the bed push.

But need a unique

and novel idea

Jam glorious tasty jams

Lynne busy making jams and jellys which can be brought via our market carboot outlet

She is a fully trained chef so enjoy making food products and putting her training to use which is something she does not always get chance to do in her roles here at Clark trading.

In the case of the Bramble and rose hip jams/jellys they are made using wild fruits.

Are now also doing some chutneys 

Just plain English please

We know how some people and companies just love using jargon instead of plain English we can all understand.

They think it makes them look good,clever and really know their stuff. But it does not in my opinion it is more likely to be a shield to hide their lack of knowledge, understanding of their supposedly expert area of knowledge, hoping that the jargon will baffle the person they are talking to.

And what more it is not very often helpful to any one

That is why here at Clark trading we don't use jargon but stick to plain simple English. And what's more that is a promise

Part 2 Our Customer care pledge

As a company we care with a passion about each and every one of our customers. And we are making these pledges about customer care

• We promise to never hard sell 
• We promise to use plain English never unneeded Jargon 
• We promise never to treat our customers like a cash cow or numbers Etc. 
• We promise to never do offer for new customers only all offers we ever do will be open to every customers 

Our customer care pledge

It annoy me how some companies offer this or that offer only to new customers. And treat their existing customers as a cash cow. I think and fell that this is unfair on all a companies existing customers. It is wrong as simple as that.

But there is a other way. And it is very simple treat all customers the same but different the same as in all offers are available to new or existing customers, different by treating each and every customer as an individual and cater for their individual needs and that is how we do it here at Clark trading.

Any offer we have/may have is open to all our customers.

Fuel saving tips

We all know that running a business is an expensive thing with this bill and that cost and we are all looking to reduce our cost. And in my experience for nearly every business one of the biggest cost is Fuel!

But I have no intention to have a rant on it. I just thought I would pass on a few tip based on my experience from Clark trading.

Motorway miles are the cheapest and most fuel efficient.

If possible travel by the motorway or A roads to get to places.

Avoid unneeded gear changes

And avoid constant unneeded changes in speed

Avoid carry unneeded weigh/gear if it is not need for the task in hand don't carry it.

What is all hype about British stereotypes

We have all read this article or that article about true and untrue British stereotypes, and it got me thinking which one's do I live up to.

•  yes I love my cup of tea 
• But don't talk like a cockney after all I am a northerner 
• And no I don't do warm beer 
• My teeth are not that bad 
• But I do know the queen no sorry only kidding I have never even seen her in person.

David versus Goliath

Given a choice I prefer to give my business to small independent business not multi nationals. For two reasons no correction to many to list but it all boils down to I believe I receive a better service from other small business and that the customer is better of with small business here is why.

1. A smaller team

It is often a big problem with larger companies have numerous departments and each not know what the other does and getting passed between different areas/departments. Small business have one department very often and the staff know each other and what they do, further more they will be better informed and more prone to own the process etc. (For example at Clark trading if I need to know something to help a customer all I need to do is asks one other person not go between numerous departments)

Small teams have numerous other advantages for the customer as staff are very likely to know the owner on a more personal level and vice a versa and as a result care more about the company they work for. So they are very often more passionate about the company and it success. It is more personal to them and they know a company is only as good as it customer care.

A blank page and life.

As I sit here looking to type a blog I am getting stirred down by a blank page. And a blank page is a scary thing it may not seem to be but it is a journey into the unknown. But we just have to take a leap. Just like life.
