1800 BC

The Ferriby Boats, three Bronze Age sewn plank-built boats are built. Discovered at North Ferriby on the banks of the Humber in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Only a small number of similar boats from that period have been found in Britain. The Ferriby boats are some of the earliest known boats found in Europe.
